Only 26 miles from downtown Big Pine is a forest of ancient Bristlecone Pine trees, which are the oldest living things in the world. The oldest tree is named Methuselah; it is rapidly approaching the ripe old age of 4,900 years. Don't ask where Methuselah is located, it’s a secret and they won’t tell.
